Matchy Matchy

This post is just for fun, not something I'd normally post but in honor of my first Baylor homecoming I just had to. :)

This past weekend was homecoming here at Baylor. As a freshmen, it was so cool to be a part of for the first time! On our way to the football game, two of my beautiful friends and I realized that we were all wearing very similar ensembles. Pat Neff (the building with the gold dome) was looking especially good that afternoon and the three of us decided to have some fun taking pictures.

White dresses in November? Absolutely. Rules are made to be broken right? And don't forget the cowboy boots. This is Texas after all. ;)

Sweater Weather

FINALLY IT IS SEMI LESS BLAZING IN TEXAS!
I guess I'm more than a little excited that I can finally dig out my cable knits and cardigans. Being a native Minnesotan, my sweaters are used to seeing daylight late-septemeber, not mid-november. Oh well, they are worth the wait! There's nothing like layering a chunky knit over some boot/legging combo. Top that off with a scarf and there you have my fall wardrobe. Sweater weather is indeed better weather. This season, Ive been leaning towards neutrals with rosy undertones. I think that the less intense colors lend themselves well to the soft textures, and they look good on anyone!

Bubble Trouble

One trend I can't go a day without seeing recently is women wearing bubble necklaces. Originally made popular by J. Crew (selling for $150), these statement necklaces were quickly replicated. Ive seen copies in almost every women's retail boutique I've been in recently. Of course, I couldn't resist getting my hands on one, but there was no way my college-girl budget would have ever forgiven me if I had paid full price. Fortunately, I logged onto www.Etsy.com and found the closest replica I could and paid only $9.99 (plus shipping). SCORE. Mine looks like this:

OBSESSED. You too, right?

Don't let the bright colors and statement-ness of these necklaces scare you! They are incredibly easy to style. While I tend to wear them with a buttoned up collared shirt, you could make an argument for crew necks, boat necks, v-necks, whatever! I also have a feeling we'll be seeing these for awhile because they come in fall/winter and spring/summer colors. Happy accessorizing!
