VALEN-WEEK PART 2: OUTFITS

Debating over what to wear? I have put together two outfits on very opposite sides of the spectrum in terms of potential outfits to accommodate your Valentine's plans (or lack there of). The first is a more casual look, ideal for a movie night with your beaux (or your best friends). This look is cute and comfortable--not trying to hard but still stylish. 

The second is a classic hot-date look. Whip out that LBD if your guy is taking you somewhere nice, or if you just feel like looking fab (leather optional). Tone down the drama with a neutral bag or clutch, and gold accessories. (LOVE that spike necklace!) Call me cliche but you can absolutely NEVER go wrong with a black dress and a red lip. Choose a red with a blue-ish undertone to make your teeth appear whiter.

Happy Valen-week!

I am a fan of holidays. I thoroughly enjoy celebrations of any sort, sparkly (or not) decorations, both giving and receiving thoughtful gifts, spending time with loved ones, and experiencing the specific joy that comes with special occasions. This being said, Valentine's day is one of the big ones for me--one  day a year that is dedicated to celebrating LOVE! I think it is so important that we make the people we love know that we love them, and especially on valentines day, to express it in a way that makes them feel special and very very important (and happy!).

Rave: MAC Girl About Town and Vegas Volt

Recently I've picked up a couple new MAC lipsticks that I LOVE and had to share with you guys. 

First, I got Vegas Volt, a gorgeous bright orange-y coral color. I also picked up Girl About Town, a loud fuchsia with a blue undertone that is incredibly flattering. Both are MAC's Amplified formula, which was new to me, but, I've found I really like it. They are similar to the cream sheen formula, but maybe a tad more drying. Also, (obviously) the colors are extremely pigmented, and look great alone, after one coat. Ive swatched them below, Vegas Volt to the left, and Girl About Town on the right.

Surprise! I'm not dead! I took a summer (and semester) off of blogging mostly due to laziness. Sorry. Your girl's got stuff to do, you know? Don't worry, I'll catch you up to speed.

Great! Now that we're all caught up, I want to announce something (semi) exciting! I stalk Emily Schuman of cupcakesandcashmere.com pretty regularly, and have become obsessed with her "Five Things" series. So naturally, I want to start documenting weekly inspirations, favorite products, and random happy things of my own! First trial post coming soon! Let me know what you guys think. :)
